Microbial coexistence in the body creates the human microbiota, and the total genome of these microorganisms is called the microbiome. The human microbiota provides: the production of vitamins, the maintenance of immunity and its proper functioning, promotes metabolism, destroys other pathological microorganisms, etc. Accordingly, the violation of the microbiota is the basis for the development of many diseases, such as: autoimmune diseases, metabolic diseases, diabetes, obesity, cancer and many others.

Microbial medicine has been widely introduced and is developing in the world, the main goal of which is to normalize the microbiota and thereby treat diseases. The main method for this is the transplantation of human processed products from one person to another (fecal microbiome transplantation - FMT). This method has a long history, it is officially recognized, included in the medical NCSP classifier with the code JFXX, approved by international medical organizations. In Georgia and the Caucasus, the direction of microbial medicine is currently not developed.

The Scientific and Medical Center of Microbial Medicine in Tbilisi will be the first in the Caucasus to set itself the task of developing this direction. It is noteworthy that our specialists, under the leadership of Mr. Oleg Koyava, have already accumulated sufficient practical experience in treatment with positive clinical results; genetic analysis of the results obtained and large-scale research are also being carried out in one of the leading genetic laboratories in Tbilisi. With such an approach, a medical and scientific center will be established for the first time in Georgia, which will follow modern trends in medicine and positively solve many unsolved problems.
